​This website is intended to 'showcase' the birding riches of this fabulous province (plus adjacent parts of Seville and Malaga Provinces).  As a taster, I've listed my six best sites here, but for details of c80 sites have a look at my detailed notes (see 'Site Guide).  I originally listed my 'top five' sites, but just had to round it out to a round half-a-dozen (listed below & on the drop down menu).  These sites include most habitats and hence most birds likely to be found in the area.    

         1 - Laguna Medina - a convenient site for ducks & wetland birds
         2 - Tarifa - migration watchpoints 
         3 - Sanlucar - Bonanza - the best site for waders & other birds
         4 - Llanos de Libar -  part of Grazalema Natural Park, but just over the border in 
                     Malaga province).
         5 - Bolonia & Sierra de la Plata - a great site for raptors & local specialties                   
​         6 - La Janda - another good site for raptors & wetland birds
